Waitangi DAy

Why do we celebrate Waitangi day?

Waitangi day is an important day in New Zealand because this is the day when the Maori chiefs signed the treaty saying that the English people and Maori people can live with the same laws to share New Zealand to live on.
The treaty was signed on  Waitangi day and signed on the 6th of February 1840.

William Hobson signed the Treaty of Waitangi on the 6th of february in New Zealand. The Maori and English people celebrate Waitangi day together.

We can spend Waitangi day with our family and friends. We can celebrate Waitangi Day and we can learn about Waitangi Day In New zealand.
