Cigarettes

Here is Me and Tiare's DARE DLO. It tells you about cigarettes and what cigarettes are made of. As you can see cigarettes are made of very bad chemicals in it. This is one of our tasks for a program that Mrs Anderson and Millward has been running. Hope you will learn some things from this DLO. 
And once again MAKE WISE CHOICE AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE PUTTING INSIDE YOUR BODY. 

RWC ( Rugby World Cup)

Part of our reading we were doing activities about RWC. I worked with Zeba and Tim. We create a DLO about Argentina rugby players and some information. We had added the players of Argentina and their names. Hope you will learn something from this DLO.   

Care Awards : Certificate and Badges

Today at assembly for me it was special because I got certificate and a badge for my CARE Award Challenge. I am really proud of my self for taking the time and to completing these before I leave next year. Now I got four badges all together, hopefully I will be moving onto Gold soon and completing them at the end of the year. I would like to Thank Tim for helping me move to the next stage of these CARE Awards.

Math Game

These all the result that I got after playing the games. The first game I played with tim it was so fun because wend of the game were both were in a draw. W got 6 and 6. After playing with Tim. Then I play beat the clock. It was little bit easy but difficult to pass the time. I try my best to kept in time and finished all the questions. I really enjoyed these game and these games helps me with my times table. 

Term 4 ( Homework)

As part of our homework, we have to create a DLO that will clearly explain all the things about, What Where, Who, Why, When and Which. By doing this homework, it helped me to understand things about the 5W's. Hope you will learn some thing from this presentation. 

Music With Mrs Anderson

Today we had music lesson with Mrs Anderson, because Mrs Eeles is still not better to teach us music, so Mrs Anderson decided to teach us music. Everyone did wonderful job by trying to keep up with each other while their playing. We had to play a song called “When the saints go marching in”.  We played this song on an instrument called Xylophones. We had to work in two pairs first then join with another two pairs to make a group of four. I worked with Evelyn, Tiare, June, Ducati and I. After practicing the song we have to share it with other groups. Everyone did a great job and they kept playing the song in the right time which made the song sounds good. Everyone had a great time. We would like to say big thank you to Mrs Anderson for taking her time to teach us music. Everyone had a great time by playing the song with Mrs Anderson.

Basket Ball ( Second Session )

Today room 5 had second session of Basketball practice. Last week we did lots of warm up and the warm ups were, squats, high knees,butt kicks, pivot, stance, relays and cup the ball and dribbling. This week we did that again to see whether we remember it. Everyone remembers that skills. Than we split in to four groups. In four groups we had five people. In my team there were Tiare, June, Courtney, Afu and me. We worked as a team and we were encouraging them to do the warm ups. After that we had a competition between two team. There were two girls team and two boys team, so girls against that other girls team and boys against the other boys team. Both team did a great job but unfortunately we lost but the other team won. We really had a great time down there with Coach Mark and COach Millie. I learnt lots of new skills from them. I hope I will learnt more skills from them during Term 4. 

7 Multiplication and division

 To help with my 7 times table, I need to finished all the strategies based around 7 times table. I think I did well and by doing this kinds of activity helps me to improve al lots in my math. For this activity we can work by self or work with a buddy, I worked my self but I was helping my friend as well. 

7x Table Knowledge

7x Knowledge poster. Today room 5 have to create a 7x table to show that they are lots of way to solve times table problem. The way to solve the problem are ( Skip counting, Repeated addition, A-frame, groups story, Factor and product and  T-chart. Making this DLO helps me also to understand that they are lots of way to solve multiplication problem.

Math Grid Challenge

For our maths me and Paige had a race between each other and I won. It was such a fun maths thing that we did because the first person to fill out there side of the half wins. This maths game helped us learn our times table and measurements. We both had really fun time by playing this game. 

CARE Awards : Tom Latham

One of our C.A.R.E Award task was to do a Presentation on a respected Leader. Me, Tiare,Evelyn, Tim and Afu decided to do Tom Latham because we think he is a respected leader, and is a great role model.

Ukulele

One Wednesday we had Ukulele practice. Fine, Tim and Yvette taught us how to play Island songs. That was hard for because playing ukelele is very for me, so I played every single notes wrong. But Fine taught me step by step. SO it was little bit helpful. Then we have to play it for the music. The first part I did it right but the second was was little bit struggle.  But I still learn some things from them. I would like to say bag thank you to FIne, Tim and Yvette for taught us how to play Island song.

2x Math's DLO

Questions: 

Sajiha read a book with 6003 words in it in 4 weeks. In the first week she read 653 words. In the second week she read 497 words and in the third week she read 1183 words. How many more words did she read in week 4?

For this question first I added 1183, 497 and 653 which gives me 2333. Then I minus 6003 and 2333 which gives me 3670. So the answer is 3670. Sajiha read 3670 pages in week 4.

18 - 3 = 15

Third  of 15 is 5

5 x 2 = 10

Halatoa ate twice as many pancakes as Sebastian at lunchtime. Sebastian had another 3 pancakes for afternoon tea. Altogether they ate 18 pancakes. How many pancakes did Halatoa eat?

For this question first I subtract 18 and 3 which gives mes 15, than I found out that third of 15 is 5. After that I times 5 and 2 which gives me 10. 
So Halatoa ate 10 pancakes.

This activity helps me to add up in thousand and also helps me to lean how to divided. This is a easy way to learn how solve hard problems. This activity is very useful for me and helpful.

Saruja: New Zealand Shake Out Drill

This is our DLO about New Zealand Shake Out Drill. We created this DLO to show all of you what to do when the earthquakes come. We also added a video that will clearly tel you what to do. We hope you all know what to do when the earthquakes come.

Recounts - Story Swap

On July 13th 1995 there was an old looking rusty house sitting on top of a crowed bush of trees. The sun was rising down slowly as it became midnight. I didn't wanted to stay alone outside in the pitch dark. The wind blowed strongly and strongly that it strangely made the door open. I thought to my self if it was the best choice to go in side or stay outside. I said yes. I took one step inside the house and it felt like I was walking into a ghost trap. I couldn't risk the chance of getting murdered so I creeped in a dark room alone.

There were blood dripping from the celling. I rushed down stairs and saw a shadow following my movements. I turned slowly panicking like if something was gonna pop up. I realised that there was a girl all alone in the corner  holding her teddy bear screaming out ''HELP HELP''. At this moment I thought it was just a normal girl just like me. I looked at her like I was solving a crime. She was just a girl who disappeared in mid air like thin dust. I had a shock,I fainted and knock my head on the floor. I was dreaming desperately to get out of the house. Someone started to walk up to me and say follow me. I looked around but I couldn't see anything yet all I could hear is voices.

Today we write a story about an abandoned building. We have to work in a partner and we have to write the story on a piece of paper. I worked with Evelyn. The special thing in this writing was each person have to write a sentence and we have to make sure that it make sense and we use the correct punctuation. After that we have to read it loudly and we have to find all the mistakes that we made. For us it was difficult because we are not allowed to talk. But without talking we wrote a lot of sentence and it helps us to think al lot. We really enjoyed this activity because this was fun and helpful. The things that I learnt from this activity was when ever you work with partners you find all the mistakes that you have made.  Hope you really enjoyed our writing. 

Subtractions challenge

Today Halatoa, Latham , Tim, June, Manu, San Tat, and Me we practice how to subtract big number and how to browning 1 number from other column. I did my online challenge game and I got 100%, because I know how to subtract the biggest number.  This online challenge game will help you to practice and help you to answer the subtraction question quickly.

Revision Problem Solving - Saruja

Today I learned how to solve a revision problems. I was surprised that I could figure out a revision problem. I think this is going to help us with our tests. I am ready for the next revision problem.

On Wednesday I was reading this  book to my friend sister. She chose this book and gave it to me to read it. The book is all about War and lots of things that happens at 1993.  She told me that her favorite part was that all the children wasn't listen when the teacher was talking but when her started to tell a story about a war that happened in past everyone was listening. She really liked this book and enjoyed it. Even I really like this book.

I think my cover is better because as you can see that I have apply some grass which is stay under that water and some bubbles. The difference between my cover and the book cover is that in the book cover they have apply lots of leaves and grass, but I just apply 11 or 12 grasses. I also think my cover is better because the real cover font is little bit hard but my font is easy to read. I think both covers are nice and colourful.

This is my new cover and I decided to d this because in my mind it says that the fonts is bad so should change it. I think you like my cover.
