Selwyn College Orientation

This is my little explanation what Happen at Selwyn College. We had a great time at Selwyn College, by watching the show and doing our exams. 

New Zealand New Flag

New Zealand New Flag

Yesterday all the student at Panmure Bridge School voted for the flag that we thought look the best and that had the best meaning. This is the result that we got after voting for the flag that we thought was the best. For the Blue and Black Fern Flag 60 people voted, for the Red Peak flag there were 25 people voted, for the BW Koru 10 people voted, for the BW Fern flag there were 50 people voted and for the Red & Blue Fern flag 87 people voted. The best result for the flag was 87 people. These people voted for Red & Blue Flag.

Wheel and Axle

This is the ifaketext my partner (Tim) and I created on the axle and wheel history. It gives you clear information Why Genghis Khan didn't want people taller than a wagon. We worked really hard to find the answer for this question and finally we fund the correct answer. 

An Inclined Plane

This is the google poster Tim and I created based around the inclined plane. Our task was to write in 25 words what an inclined plane is and how it works.  Tim and I tried really hard to write sentence in 25 work in our own words. And we got exactly 25 word and t can help you to understand what is incline plane easily  by reading this. 

Wedge

This is the google poster Tim and I created about the wedge. This is based around 'simple machines'. Our science topic. We included a 25 word explanation about the process of a wedge. Tim and I work collectively to write sentence in 25 words. 

Lever

This is the google poster Tim and I created  about a lever. This is based around 'simple machines'. Our science topic. We wrote down in less than 25 words a short explanation of what a lever is. Tim and I work collaboratively to right down a sentence in less than 25 words. 

Screw

This is a DLO about screw that Tim and I created. We're learning about the Six Simple Machinery. Tim and  I watched a video that gives us information about screws and we created a google presentation we wrote down what we learnt in our own words. We learnt some new things about screw by watching the video.

Dear Term One Saruja

LI- To Reflect on personal goals set in Term 1

Dear Term one Saruja,

Wow, the days, months and term have being past very quickly, yes I have done all the things that you wrote in Term 4 letter, because showing respect to your teacher is the most important thing. I was really pleased that you helped me to step in my learn .In math, now I am able to understand what does that question asking you to do. Achieve all the work, I am really that you I able to finish your homework in the correct time. From beginning of the term and end of the term I can see some changes that I made into my learning. Hope I can keep managing myself in college, so I can get the better result, that I got in term 4.

From Term four Saruja


This is my letter to Term one Saruja, I have achieved all the goal that I thought beginning of the term. In the beginning of the term, we wrote a letter called Dear Term Four Saruja, and now we have to reply to the letter, to say that I have achieved all the goals that I set for me beginning of the year. This task helped me to thing of the positive work that I did following the term. Everyone has some positive thing, and for me is Managing self. Hope I will keep my positive thing until next year and be the same student I were before. 

Simple Machines

Since this term is Simple Machines we had to do these follow up tasks or challenges for   every Simple Machine except Pulley. I worked with Saruja and we created a presentation   based on each individual machine. For Inclined plane we did a 25 word description. Wedge we made a Diagram about it. Screw we made a DLO to show what we learnt from a video that we watched. Lever we made a labeled diagram to show different parts of the   lever. Wheel and Axle was to create a conversation on ifaketext.com to explain the           reason why Genghis Khan didn't want any Tatar Male taller than a Wagon Wheel.  

Twickenham

We have to create a DLO about RWC, so Tim and I decided to create about Twickenham. We have included lots of information about Twickenham. We also have added four videos. We are really happy that All Black won the World cup. We also created This DLO to show where did they have their competition. We both learnt some think about and We hope you will also learn some things from this DLO.  

Math Game

These all the result that I got after playing the games. The first game I played with tim it was so fun because wend of the game were both were in a draw. W got 6 and 6. After playing with Tim. Then I play beat the clock. It was little bit easy but difficult to pass the time. I try my best to kept in time and finished all the questions. I really enjoyed these game and these games helps me with my times table. 

Basket Ball ( Second Session )

Today room 5 had second session of Basketball practice. Last week we did lots of warm up and the warm ups were, squats, high knees,butt kicks, pivot, stance, relays and cup the ball and dribbling. This week we did that again to see whether we remember it. Everyone remembers that skills. Than we split in to four groups. In four groups we had five people. In my team there were Tiare, June, Courtney, Afu and me. We worked as a team and we were encouraging them to do the warm ups. After that we had a competition between two team. There were two girls team and two boys team, so girls against that other girls team and boys against the other boys team. Both team did a great job but unfortunately we lost but the other team won. We really had a great time down there with Coach Mark and COach Millie. I learnt lots of new skills from them. I hope I will learnt more skills from them during Term 4. 

Math Grid Challenge

For our maths me and Paige had a race between each other and I won. It was such a fun maths thing that we did because the first person to fill out there side of the half wins. This maths game helped us learn our times table and measurements. We both had really fun time by playing this game. 

CARE Awards : Tom Latham

One of our C.A.R.E Award task was to do a Presentation on a respected Leader. Me, Tiare,Evelyn, Tim and Afu decided to do Tom Latham because we think he is a respected leader, and is a great role model.

Saruja: New Zealand Shake Out Drill

This is our DLO about New Zealand Shake Out Drill. We created this DLO to show all of you what to do when the earthquakes come. We also added a video that will clearly tel you what to do. We hope you all know what to do when the earthquakes come.

Recounts - Story Swap

On July 13th 1995 there was an old looking rusty house sitting on top of a crowed bush of trees. The sun was rising down slowly as it became midnight. I didn't wanted to stay alone outside in the pitch dark. The wind blowed strongly and strongly that it strangely made the door open. I thought to my self if it was the best choice to go in side or stay outside. I said yes. I took one step inside the house and it felt like I was walking into a ghost trap. I couldn't risk the chance of getting murdered so I creeped in a dark room alone.

There were blood dripping from the celling. I rushed down stairs and saw a shadow following my movements. I turned slowly panicking like if something was gonna pop up. I realised that there was a girl all alone in the corner  holding her teddy bear screaming out ''HELP HELP''. At this moment I thought it was just a normal girl just like me. I looked at her like I was solving a crime. She was just a girl who disappeared in mid air like thin dust. I had a shock,I fainted and knock my head on the floor. I was dreaming desperately to get out of the house. Someone started to walk up to me and say follow me. I looked around but I couldn't see anything yet all I could hear is voices.

Today we write a story about an abandoned building. We have to work in a partner and we have to write the story on a piece of paper. I worked with Evelyn. The special thing in this writing was each person have to write a sentence and we have to make sure that it make sense and we use the correct punctuation. After that we have to read it loudly and we have to find all the mistakes that we made. For us it was difficult because we are not allowed to talk. But without talking we wrote a lot of sentence and it helps us to think al lot. We really enjoyed this activity because this was fun and helpful. The things that I learnt from this activity was when ever you work with partners you find all the mistakes that you have made.  Hope you really enjoyed our writing. 

Revision Problem Solving - Saruja

Today I learned how to solve a revision problems. I was surprised that I could figure out a revision problem. I think this is going to help us with our tests. I am ready for the next revision problem.

- Why your cover is better

I think my cover is better because as you can see that I have apply some grass which is stay under that water and some bubbles. The difference between my cover and the book cover is that in the book cover they have apply lots of leaves and grass, but I just apply 11 or 12 grasses. I also think my cover is better because the real cover font is little bit hard but my font is easy to read. I think both covers are nice and colourful.

This is my new cover and I decided to d this because in my mind it says that the fonts is bad so should change it. I think you like my cover.
